Jessie James "Chub" Stroup BRISTOL, Va. Jessie James "Chub" Stroup, 75, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Washington County, Va., he was the son of the late Marshall and Nannie Barker Stroup. He resided in the Philadelphia area for 32 years where he was a forman for Spartech Vycal Plastics. He returned to Virginia in 1997 and was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. Also, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michele Stroup Nocella; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include wife of 54 years, Betty Vickers Stroup; one son, Timmy James Stroup of Gilbertsville, Pa.; one daughter, Belinda Kay Stroup of the home; one sister, Gloria Epes of Ccnnecticut ; one brother, Romie Stroup of Bristol Virginia; special nephew, William "Bill" Stroup of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, which includes grandson and lifelong companion, Dakota James Stroup of the home; three great-grandchildren; several other nieces and nephews; and a special companion, his beloved dog, Maggie Pie. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, in Fleenors Memorial Church Cemetery with Pastor Sammy Vickers Jr. There will be no visitation.
