To the family of Brother Jewell,

Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you during this time of sadness. While we are saddened by his loss, Brother Jewell is rejoicing with Jesus.
We have known Brother Jewell for a great number of years and also attended Everflowing Well Church and Kings Chapel Church when they were combined on Sunday services. We can remember him playing the piano and singing "Rough Side of the Mountain". He has made it over that mountain, received his starry crown, welcomed home by his Savior, and is holding God’s powerful hand.
We always enjoyed going to Bristol and seeing Brother Jewell. He would always greet you with a very warm and loving smile. He will be greatly missed.

I have known Brother Jewell since I was a child. My grandparents lived at 413 McDowell Street. Our whole family attended the Everflowing Wells Church. I was first saved under his mother, the Late Pastor Verlie G. and Elder Haynes over fifty years ago. I admired him as he took care of Pastor Haynes while she worked in God's vinyard. He would come from Johnson City to take her back and forth to her church engagements. After moving to Bristol, TN he would always have Everflowing Wells church opened and ready for service. I was blessed to have known the family. After having gotten married and had children, I always wanted my children to meet the ones who were responsable for me knowing Jesus Christ. Jesus allowed me to have all six of my children to meet the late Pastor V. G. Haynes as well as, Brother Jewell. God also allowed my youngest son to have had his first trial sermon there at the Everflowing Wells Church. Pastor Haynes spoke prophecy on my eldest son at the same time that he would be a minister. That, he is today.

I and my family will dearly miss Brother Jewell. We have the same last name (just spelled differently) Eventhough we are not related naturally, we are related spiritually. My prayers are with the family.

His Sister In Christ,

Sister Melvie Haines and Family
