John Isaac Marion BRISTOL, Va. John Isaac Marion, 81, died on Monday, July 5, 2010, at the Wellmont Hospice House. He was a son of the late Arch Marion and Lena Ethel Brooks. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean Marion. Mr. Marion was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated member of South Bristol United Methodist Church. He was still active with R.B. Worthy High School Class of 1949. Mr. Marion is survived by a daughter, Angela Dillow and husband Mike of Bristol Virginia; grandchildren, Matthew and Aaron Dillow; son, John Marion Jr. and wife Terrie of Bristol Tennessee; step-granddaughters, Brittany and Courtney Linkous; three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Thursday evening, July 8, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8 with Dr. Charles Ledger officiating. The committal service and entombment will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Club of South Bristol United Methodist. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to South Bristol United Methodist Church, 1809 Southside Ave., Bristol, TN 37620. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wellmont Hospice House. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed by visiting www.oakley-cook.com Arrangements especially for Mr. Marion and his family have been made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.
