John King "Fly" Nelson III John King "Fly" Nelson III, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 28, 1952, to John King Nelson Jr. and Ella Rose. He had lived in the Bristol area for many years. He was disabled, having previously worked as a carpenter and truck driver. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mountain City, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his father, John King Nelson Jr.; and a brother, Glenn Nelson. Survivors: wife, Shirley Nelson; sons, John King Nelson IV and wife Wendy, Steven Keller and wife Hope; grandchildren, Frankie Rebecca Nelson, Dylan Cash Nelson, Hunter Keller; mother, Ella Rose; brother, Tommy Nelson and wife Janie; sister, Lois Williams and husband Mike, Tracie Arnold and husband David; nieces, Hope Nelson, Michelle Williams; nephew, Tim Nelson and wife Donna; special pet, his cat, Reagan. Graveside serviced will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, from Sproles Cemetery with Pastor David Hankal officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Weaver Funeral Home. Online condolences may be registered at www.Weaverfuneralhome.net Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley (and Reagan), I'm sooo sorry to hear about one of my favorite Johns. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to see you all on Friday and give you a hug. We worked w/ him well and gave him comfort (and laughs) many times. He will surely be missed by all of us at BRMC! Love, Monica
