John Richard Snead BRISTOL, Tenn. John Richard Snead passed away April 26, 2010, after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Russell County, Va., to the late Paul and Minnie Snead. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Ferguson Snead; brothers, Paul, Bobby, Raymond and Preston Snead; sisters, Gaynell Arnold, Mildred Clark and Marie Jessee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He had resided in Bristol Tennessee for the last 57 years and was a member of the Meadow-view Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: daughter, Nancy Meadows and husband Bobby; grandsons, Robert Meadows, Patrick Meadows and wife Jennifer, Chad Meadows and wife Kristy; four great- granddaughters, Hope, Hannah, Amanda and Brookley Meadows; brother, Cecil Snead; sister, Virginia Gilbert; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, Va., with Rev. R. Alan Chapman officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to service time at the Mausoleum. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 589, Blountville, TN; or to the Bristol Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1471, Bristol, VA 24203. Online condolences may be registered at www.Weaverfuneralhome.net Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

So sorry to hear of you grandfathers passing. I know you all will miss him. But always keep in mind that he is no longer suffering and is in a better place than us. If you need anything please let us know. You all are in our prayers.
