Kenneth "Buck" Reece Howery NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. Kenneth "Buck" Reece Howery, age 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan 22, 2011, with his daughter, Janel Lynne Howery, Roanoke, Va., and granddaughter, Autumn Daniel, Christiansburg, Va., by his side. He was predeceased by parents, Wade and Nanny Howery; brothers, Wade, Rufus, and Fred; sister, Hilda; and other brothers and sisters. His loving wife of 55 years, Nola June Howery, says, "Buck wasn't a fancy man but he was a good man". Also surviving are son, Kenneth R. Howery Jr.; brother, Walter "Shark" Howery; and sister, Joyce (David) Christian. Buck was retired from Tazewell County Landfill. During his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, ginseng hunting, and time with his family and friends. A casual gathering and memorial service will be held at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, Tazewell, on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. with Pastor Dale Daniel officiating.
