Kenneth H. Williams BRISTOL, Va. Kenneth H. Williams, age 83, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of Bristol Tennessee High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard for 16 years. He retired as manager after 38 years of service from Dun and Bradstreet in Bristol Virginia. He was a member of the Bristol Noon Rotary Club, Scottish Rite, King Lodge 461, Jericho Shrine and Shriners Fez Patrol Coy on Motorcycle and belonged to the Kidney Foundation in Knoxville. He was also involved in the SCORE program in Bristol. He was an avid pilot. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. "Doc" and Myrtle Williams and a niece, Mary Amylee Williams. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Endicott Williams; two sisters, Yvonne W. Bourne and husband Gene and Joyce W. Rodgers and husband Robert; two brothers, Roger L. Williams and wife Brenda and Douglas A. Williams and wife Amy; three nephews, Greg, Brian and Matt; six nieces, Rene', Jodi, Meg, Bethany, Lea and Grace; three great-nephews, Josh, Briggs and Graham; four great-nieces, Abbey, Jena, Grandison and Ella. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William E. Houck and Rev. R.F. "Nick" White officiating. Due to the weather, the committal service will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Williams, Brian Williams, Matt Williams, Roger Endicott, Jimmy Sale and Paul Veneable. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shriners Fez Patrol Coy on Motorcycle. The family will receive friends from noon till 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the nurses and technicians at Bristol Regional Medical Center, 4 West and Dr. Steve Hanor. Anyone wishing may make memorials to Northstar Baptist Church Building Fund, 2455 King Mill Pike, Bristol, VA 24201. Akard Funeral Home, 1912 W. State St., Bristol, TN (423) 989-4800, is serving the family of Mr. Williams.

As a young banker in Bristol in the 60's I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ken. He was a great guy and very helpful to me as I became familiar with the Bristol market. My condolences to his family.
