Leola Ramsey

Leola S. Ramsey Leola S. Ramsey, age 88, answered her Savior's call Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Indian Path Hospital. She lived in Kingsport most of her life, retiring from Tennessee Eastman after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Kingsport Rebekah Lodge 17 and Eastern Star. She last attended New Covenant Free Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ramsey; parents, Harvey and Vina Franklin Salyer; brothers, Clell, Clarence, David, L.C. and Moses Salyer. She is survived by one brother, Victor Salyer, of Kingsport; sisters, Reathum Blackstone and husband Blake of Cleveland, Va., Troma Jane Barker and husband Alton of Union City, S.C.; several nieces and nephew; and faithful friend, Doris Blanchard. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at East Lawn Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Leland Salyer officiating. Family and friends will meet at 4 p.m. at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Va. East Lawn Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Ramsey family.
