Linda Carol Shankel BRISTOL, Va. Linda Carol Shankel, age 61, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Washington County, Va., on Nov. 21, 1949, and was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. She was a daughter of the late Arlie and Mildred Anders. Linda had 26 years of service as a product designer with Bristol Products. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: husband, Allan Shankel; daughter, Tina Carroll and husband Mark; son, Jerry Shankel and wife Kimberly; very special granddaughter, Sarah "Moo Moo" Carroll; grandsons, Mark Allen Carroll, Harley Shankel, Hunter Shankel; sisters, Brenda Row and husband Larry, June Bailey, Wanda McClain; brother, Cecil Anders; brothers-in-law, Mark Shankel and wife Tami, Mike Shankel and wife Beverly; friends, Susan and Mac Roberts, Sandy and Steve Poston, Johnny Vestal, Danny McCracken, Virginia Hutton, Shirley and Claude Salyers. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. It was Linda's request that her body be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Weaver Funeral Home. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

sorry to hear about your mom jerry, you are in my prayers. just saw you last week at the dollar store in food city parking lot on euclid and then this happens. makes ya wished you knew things in advance so you can show comfort,
