Lucille Hughes Kirk Marion, Va. Lucille Hughes Kirk, age 75, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, in the Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Kirk was born in Honaker, Va., on Jan. 4, 1935, to the late Leonard and Maggie Honaker Hughes. She was preceded by her husband, Buddy Kirk; several brothers and sisters; and Leona Griffith, whom she considered her mother. Mrs. Kirk was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. She had 42 years of service with Harwood Manufacturing. She was an avid horse enthusiast and, along with her husband, were the founding members of the Old Virginia Wagon & Saddle Club. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include: one daughter, Sandy Kirk and special friend Don Stinnette; one grandson, Derrick Barnes and wife Heather; four grandchildren, Lucas Barnes, Will Barnes, Hannah Barnes Aaron Paschal; several nieces and nephews; and other loving family. Special thanks to Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home, the nursing staff and special friend, Bill Gravely. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at 7 p.m. from the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. David Neitch. A graveside service will be held privately at the West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the church.
