Luella Pennington

Luella Pennington DAMASCUS, Va. Luella Pennington, age 80, of the Green Cove Community, passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Va. She was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Washington County, the Green Cove Community to the late Joseph and Mae Sturgill Pennington. Surviving are four sisters, Opal Hart, Juanita Blevins and Mary Alice Cornett all of Damascus and Mezelle Greer of Green Cove, Va.; two brothers, Lee Pennington and Elbert Pennington both of Green Cove; several nieces and nephews also survive. The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, in Green Cove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Tenney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour preceding the funeral service.
