Margaret Elizabeth Kinnard McLaughlin

Margaret Elizabeth Kinnard McLaughlin SPRING HILL, Tenn. Margaret Elizabeth Kinnard McLaughlin, age 90, passed away Dec. 24, 2010. Born March 10, 1920 in Spring Hill, Margaret was the daughter of the late James Thomas Anderson and Fred Thompson Kinnard of Thompson's Station and Franklin, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Edward McLaughlin, sister, Anna McKay Kinnard; brother, Walter Cannon Kinnard; and grandson, Christopher Michael McLaughlin. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Falls Business College. Prior to marriage, Margaret worked at First American Bank, Nashville, Tenn. She and Tom were charter members of Hillwood Country Club and she was a member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys were her family, grandchildren, traveling with Tom, reading, and her several bridge clubs. Margaret is survived by six children, Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy' McLaughlin Horner (Richard C. Horner III), Bristol Virginia; Thomas Edward McLaughlin Jr. (Debbie Thuss), Middleburg, Va.; John Kinnard McLaughlin, Fort Worth, Texas; James William McLaughlin (partner Vincent W. Bechler), Philadelphia, Pa.; Fred Thompson McLaughlin (Laura Ryan), Nashville; and George Francis McLaughlin (Linda Ferguson), Franklin, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Richard Cary Horner IV, Thomas Brent Horner, Joshua Thomas McLaughlin, Austin Perrone McLaughlin (Kayla Grabeel), Tyler Scott McLaughlin, Ryan Elizabeth McLaughlin, Anderson Thompson McLaughlin, Kaitlyn Nicole McLaughlin, and Conner Kinnard McLaughlin. Margaret is also survived by her aunt, Mary Frances Mays; sisters-in-law, Frances Mclaughlin Stauffacher and Jean Dodds Kinnard;and nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. The family would especially like to thank the staffs at Wellington Place, Woodcrest Health Center, and Alive Hospice for their support and loving care. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, with Dr. Mike Ripski officiating at Belle Meade United Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Road, Nashville, TN 37205. Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. McLaughlin from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at Belle Meade UMC.
