Martin Dewight Arnold BRISTOL, Tenn. Martin Dewight Arnold, age 67, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Arnold was a lifetime resident of Bristol Tennessee, and was retired from Southern States Co-Op. He was a member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church in Piney Flats. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his father, Stacy Glen Arnold; mother, Gladys Hammonds Arnold; sisters, Ruth Arnold Shell and Shirley Arnold Mullins; and brother, Jim Arnold. He is survived by two sons, David Arnold and wife, Sonya, of Bristol Tennessee, Daniel and wife, SaBrina, of Bluff City, Tenn.; four granddaughters, McKayla, Megan, Carson, and Cassidy Arnold; sister, Edith Arnold Carrier of Bristol Tennessee; sister-in-law, Margaret Arnold, of Bristol Tennessee; special friend, Susie Carmack of Bristol Tennessee; and his "guardian angel," Bobbie Hatcher of Bristol Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Tom Barnett, Linville Sams, Don Smith, Tony Stout, Allen Thomas, and Scott Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are George Shaver, Gray Wilson, the men of the Poplar Ridge Softball Team, and the men of Holston Valley Christian Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 13, at Poplar Ridge Christian Church from 6 until 7:45 p.m., with funeral beginning at 8 p.m. Gary Barnett and Brad Perry will be officiating, with John Shirey serving as musical director. Graveside services will be held at Harold E. Barnett Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Poplar Ridge Christian Church Choir, 206 Poplar Ridge Church Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686; or to Holston Valley Christian Church, 980 Bristol Caverns Highway, Bristol, TN 37620. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the IMU at Bristol Regional Medical Center for the love and care they provided for Mr. Arnold and his family. I have many fond memories of Martin and the whole Arnold family. I remember the
