Odessa Mae Horton Brewer TROUTDALE, Va. Odessa Mae Horton Brewer, age 87, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at the Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, Va., to the late John and Zelda Martin Horton and was preceded in death by her husband, Cone Brewer; a sister, Mary Horton Busic; and a brother, Ray Horton. Survivors include: two sons, Ray Brewer and wife Ellen, Troutdale, Roy Brewer and wife Patricia, Volney; one sister, Elsie Williams, Roanoke; grandchildren, Doug Brewer, Chad Brewer, Brandon Brewer, Ben Brewer, John Brewer, Michael Brewer, Miranda Brewer; great-grandchildren, Kayla Brewer, Jacob Brewer, Kelsey Brewer; several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Troutdale Cemetery with Pastor Tim Boyette officiating. Family and friends are ask to meet at the cemetery. At the request of Mrs. Brewer there will be no public visitation. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion is serving the Brewer family.

Dear Ray and Ellen & family;

Dewey and I are very sorry to hear of Odessa's passing. What a remarkable woman she was. We only hope to have at least half of the will and determination she had. Hope to see you sometime soon.
