Patricia "Dianne" Martin

Patricia "Dianne" Martin MARION, Va. Patricia "Dianne" Martin, age 48, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. She was born in Smyth County, Va., on Dec. 30, 1961. She had been employed at Merrilat for over 20 years and volunteered with the Marion Life Saving Crew for 10 years. She was a loving wife, mother and daughter. Survivors Include her husband of 30 years, Gary Martin; her children, Christopher Todd Martin and Shannon Tyler Martin; her mother and stepfather, Louise Wassum and husband, James, Marion; her father, Claude Sheets, Sugar Grove, Va.; her grandmother, Lessie Martin, Marion; two brothers and one sister, David Allen Sheets, Sugar Grove, James Donald Wassum, Marion, and Donna Sue Anderson, Marion; one granddaughter, Kayla Adamson; her nephews and nieces, Shaun Brown, Dakota Sheets, Michelle Brown, Nikki Sheets, and Whitney Anderson; one great-nephew, Jaden Kirk; special friends, Kathy Smith, Teresa Creasy, and Jeff Waller; and special neighbors, Billy Ed and Tess Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Steve Hutton and Pastor Avery Sheets officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
