Peggy Jean Vannoy CHILHOWIE, Va. Peggy Jean Vannoy, age 61, passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. She was born in Tazewell County, Va., to the late Woodrow and Jesse Mae Lovelace Vanhoozer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, T.C. Vannoy; one brother, Tommy Vanhoozer; and a sister, Mary Ellen Vanhoozer. She was a member of Parker's Chapel Baptist Church and had been employed in the textile industry. She was a loving wife and mother who loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include: her husband of over 40 years, George M. Vannoy; two sons, George W. Vannoy and Barry Wright, Max Meadows, Va., Michael P. Vannoy and wife Michelle, Marion, Va.; one brother, David Harold Vanhoozer and wife Kayretha, Chilhowie; three sisters, Patsy Heath and husband Ed, Chilhowie, Sandy Walls and husband Jamie, Chilhowie, Brenda Woods, Chilhowie; her grandchildren, Summer Rain Baker, Jordan Stephenson, Kayla Parrish, Jada Dawn Wright; special friends, Brian Vanhoozer and Wanda Walton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie, with Rev. Dan Roark officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Damascus. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family requests that casual attire be worn. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com Bradley's Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the family of Mrs. Vannoy.
