Preston Collins NICKELSVILLE, Va. Preston Collins, 75, formerly of Coeburn, Va., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the Indian Path Hospital Kingsport, Tenn. He was a member of the Riverview Pentecostal Church, Coeburn, a retired employee of Palmer Construction. Surviving are his wife, Frances Johnson Collins; three sons, Michael Collins and his wife Samantha of Nickelsville, Robert Collins and his wife Sharon and Leroy Collins and his wife Angie, all of Coeburn; a daughter, Norma Carr and her husband Bobby of Nickelsville; a brother, Louis Collins of Coeburn; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home, 310 Sixth St., NW, Coeburn, VA, Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Coeburn, with Pastor Mike Lawson and Brother Joe Dearry officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery, Coeburn. The family and friends will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Sturgill Funeral Homes, 310 Sixth St., NW, Coeburn, VA 24230, in charge of arrangements.
