Rex E. Stafford BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Rex E. Stafford, age 60, 4246 Bluff City Highway, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Carter County, Tenn., to the late Earl and Honolue Ward Stafford. Survivors include his wife, Janice Buchanan Stafford of the home; five sons, Victor Stafford and wife Karen of Kentucky, Gene Stafford and wife Julie of Elizabethton, Alan Stafford and wife Becky of Bluff City, Mark Stafford and Matthew Stafford, both of Pulaski, Va.; two daughters, Tina Ward and husband, Randy of Johnson City and Teresa Curry and husband, Don of Jonesborough; three step- children, Travis Ayers and wife Vickie, Mark Ayers and wife Dee of Bluff City and Patricia "Tootie" Pineda of Bristol; one brother, Thomas Wayne Stafford and wife, Jan of Fayetteville, N.C.; a special pet, Precious; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, at Tetrick Funeral Home Bluff City Chapel with Rev. Steve Playl officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. The graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Isaac Cemetery, Roan Mountain, Tenn., with Rev. Scott Greene officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Buchanan, Joe Buchanan, Eddie Buchanan, Victor Stafford, Cecil Bryant, Craig Hicks and Neel Charlton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dave Arnold and J.D. Antrican. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Arnold and the staff of Healing Hands Health Care and also the nurses of Caris Health Care. Ministers, pallbearers, family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
