Robert Wayne Carrier LEBANON, Va. Robert Wayne Carrier, age 81, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at his home. He was born August 30, 1928 in Bristol Tennessee, a son of the late Arthur and Fannie Hinkle Carrier. He has lived in the Lebanon area for the past 50 years and was a retired hardware salesman. He was a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman and Earl. Survivors include: wife, Marlene Hinkle Carrier; sons, Christopher Wayne Carrier and wife Cindy, Steven Byron Carrier and wife Jenna; two grandchildren, Steven Andrew Carrier and Samantha Brianne Carrier; step-grandson, Tommy Musick; sisters, Louise Eyler and Hazel Freeman; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Shipley Cemetery. A procession of family and friends will leave the funeral home at 1:40 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends from 12-4 p.m. Saturday at his home, 524 Ridge Rd. Lebanon, VA 24266.
