Roechette Belle Buckles

Roechette Belle Buckles LEBANON, Va. Roechette Belle Buckles, 88, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. Born in Russell County, Va., on Aug. 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Roechette Monk Buckles. She was a 1942 graduate of Lebanon High and worked as a nurse for Dr. Gillespie. She attended Copper Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Janie Buckles Dye, Beulah Ruth Hardin, and Lena Morrisetta; brother, Coy Buckles; and sister-in-law, Ruby Dye Buckles. Survivors include her sister, Birdie Harry of Canton, Ga.; brother, Jeff Louis Dye and wife, Mildred, of Lebanon; five nephews; three special nephews, Gary, Grat and Garnett Dye; three nieces; two special nieces, Rita Harrison and Bonnie Lester; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Owens Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Duane Musick officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. before the service. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery. Owens Funeral Service, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
