Rothel L. Denton

Rothel L. Denton BRISTOL, Va. Rothel L. Denton, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1946, to Ackie V. Denton and the late Ernest R. Denton. He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and was a 1966 graduate of John Battle High School. Mr. Denton retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 31 years of service and worked as a courier for Citizens Bank after retirement. He attended Fellowship Chapel. Mr. Denton was a veteran of the Army National Guard, having served from 1966-1972. Survivors: wife of 44 years, Barbara Garrison Denton; sons, Kevin Lynn Denton and wife Tammy, Darin Lynn Denton and wife Amy, Trevor Lynn Denton and wife Thessa; five grandchildren, Kansas, Avery, Tanner, Ben, and Joseph Denton; mother, Ackie Virginia Denton; sister, Angie Fritts and husband Darryl; one niece, Rachel; one nephew, Nolan; best friends, Jim and Janice Musick. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Price officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Military honors will be provided by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Chapel Benevolent Fund, 201 Crockett St., Bristol, VA 24201.
