Ruth E. Taylor Roberts

Ruth E. Taylor Roberts ABINGDON, Va. Ruth E. Taylor Roberts, 89, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in the Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Va. She was born in McDowell County, W.Va., and had lived most of her married life in Point Pleasant, W.Va. She had been a resident of Abingdon for the past seven years. She was a member of the Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church and Circle No. 2 of Abingdon. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Roberts; brothers, Billy and Charlie; sisters, Lucille and Peggy. Survivors include her sister, Bess Orr, Abingdon; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Margaret Houser. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at 3 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Service, Main Street Chapel with the the Rev. Beth Yarborough officiating. Interment will follow later in the week in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the service in the Farris Funeral Home.
