Sarah Elizabeth Young Beck BRISTOL, Tenn. Sarah Elizabeth Young Beck, 71, passed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center She was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Washington County, Va., to the late Fred Edward and Sarah Elizabeth "Bess" Myers Young; and the widow of, Jack Raymond Beck. She was a graduate of Tennessee High School, retired from Bristol Builders-Hassinger Corporation, a dedicated long-term member and organist of Anderson Street United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women and Meals on Wheels program. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Beck Mallin; son, Gary Steven Beck and wife Susan Long Beck; sister, Myra Anne Kistner and her husband Douglas; grandchildren, Steven B. Beck, Elizabeth "Nicole" Roark, and Christopher "CJ" Mallin; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Frank and Cathy Mitchell, Melda Headrick, Jo Ann Hall, and Betty Jo Spraker. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Sunday evening, Jan. 10, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2010, at Anderson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Fleenor officiating.
