Stella Marie Lawrence

Stella Marie Lawrence MARION, Va. Stella Marie Lawrence, 81, passed away Nov. 19, 2010 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born July 23, 1929, in Sugar Grove, Va. Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Roberts; her second husband, Bob Lawrence; and her parents, Henry and Bessie Rich. She was a faithful member of Valley View Baptist Church and a member of the Hurricane Bowling league for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Dempsey and husband Danny of Sugar Grove and Cindy Roberts of Jonesborough, Tenn.; one son, Charles Roberts and wife Donna of Marion; four grandchildren, Jennifer Dempsey Cregger of Sugar Grove, Hope Overbay and husband Jim of Christiansburg , Jessica Hinson and husband Chris of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brady Roberts of Marion; four great-grandchildren, Abbie and Mollie Cregger and Garrett and Walker Overbay; one sister, Lois Sheets of Sugar Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Frost and Brother Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Slemp Cemetery in Sugar Grove. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Funeral Chapel.
