Stephen Pawlyk MARION, Va. Stephen Pawlyk, age 90, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. He was born in Auburn, N.Y., to the late John and Kristina Pawlyk. He served his country as a member of the Army, 792 Bomb Squad from 1942-1945. During that time he flew a B-29 Bomber which he named "Ready Betty". Stephen was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and was retired from Harwood Manufacturing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Bonnie "Jeanne" Howard. Mr. Pawlyk is survived by his wife, Bonnie Pawlyk of Marion; sister, Helen Benda, of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; granddaughter, Bonnie Mae Walls and husband, Jackie of Whitetop, Va.; grandson, Raymond Howard of Chilhowie; two great-grandsons, Michael Walls and Maverick Howard; one great-granddaughter, Barbara Lyle and husband, Mark; two great-great-granddaughters, Roxy Walls and Della Walls; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside services will be held, Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the Pawlyk family.
