Velma Elizabeth Gentry Velma Elizabeth Gentry, age 80, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2010, from Bristol Wellmont Hospice. She was born on September 14, 1929, in Johnson City, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Eugene Gentry; and brothers, Charles Clark and Cecil Clark. She was a member of the Bristol Quilters Guild and an avid dulcimer player. She is survived by three sons, Conley Eugene Gentry Jr., of Kingsport, Tenn., Phillip Darrell Gentry and Allen Clark Gentry and wife Lisa, all of Bristol Tennessee; brother, Samuel Clark Jr. and wife Dixie, of Bristol Tennessee; grandson, Lucas Samuel Gentry. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 O'clock Monday evening, April 26, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10 O'clock Tuesday morning at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Wellmont Hospice, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed by visiting www.oakley-cook.com Arrangements especially for Mrs. Gentry and her family have been made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.
