Bill and Cherie,
It was such pleasure as well as an honor to take care of your dad. I finally got to meet him, and when I saw him, I said, "Bill looks just like you", and he grinned so big. My prayers are with you and your family.

Bill, Cherie and all your family

Few words can assuage the pain and grief at moments like this. The anguish of saying "Goodbye" for the last time in this reality is immeasurable, Our prayer for you is that the Almighty holds you in the palm if His hands...reminding you that love conquers all things. My mom was born in 1921, too, I'd bet that both my mom and dad, greeted your dad on the other side of time. And I'll raise a cup of Joe in honor of Bill Akers, Sr. for serving and protecting our country.

In love and peace

I met Bill Akers at Brevard College in 1946. After graduating in 1948 we both attended the University of Georgia where we were roommates and graduated in 1950. We have stayed close friends and visited each other many times over the past 64 years. My family and I have been blessed to have known such a great friend as Bill Akers and his wonderful family. We will miss him.
