Wilton Michael "Mike" Hilt ABINGDON, Va. Wilton Michael "Mike" Hilt, 60, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 17, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is a son of Wilton Harrison and Ruby Browning Hilt. Mike, a local farmer and horseman, was preceded in death by a son, David M. Hilt and an infant daughter, Amy Marie Hilt; his mother-in-law, Joyce Hudson; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Hilt and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Browning; and a step-son, Brandon Jackson. Survivors include his parents; his wife, Karen Hudson Hilt; daughters, Susie Hilt, Amanda Wampler and husband, Adam, and Sally Hilt all of Abingdon; step-daughter, Latisha Jackson; step-son, Eric Reynolds and wife, Suzi, of Bristol, Tenn.; brother, Robert Hilt and wife, Sandy, of Abingdon; father-in-law, Tom Hudson and wife, Mary Ella; six cherished granddaughters, Emma, Cassidie, Ella, Grace, Katelyn and Mollie; and nephew and niece, Luke and Kayla Hilt. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Highlands Fellowship, Country Venue in Abingdon with the Rev. Bill Edmonds officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Snider, Mickey Ireson, David Gillenwalter, Eddie McConnell, Steve Sprinkle, Joe McConnell, Josh Myers, Harold Hannah, Fred Holloman, Dave Holcomb, Tony Jones and Renick Tuell. The family will be receiving friends at Farris Funeral Service from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
