Russell Paul Knight - age 87, of Selah, Washington, died Sunday April 3, 2011. Russ served in the United States Army Air Corps, serving from Sept. 1941 through Dec. 1945. He served with Distinction and Honor during World War II. Russ also was a member of United Christian Church, Camerata Club, and many other organizations. Russ retired from Hanford in 1996.
He is preceded in death by parents Russell and Margaret Knight. Survivors include: His wife Anita, two sisters, Edith and Shirley, fourteen children; Paulette & Danny, Annette & John, Stan & Debbie, Tom & Lory, Mac & Merrie, Kris & Pat, Kelly & Dean, Rusty & Kim, Lou & Sandy, Kit & Joe, Becky & Allen, David & Cherrie, Allen & Pat, Gary & Lisa; thirty-eight grandchildren and fifty-two great-grandchildren, and more on their way.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel by Rev. Edwin L. Martin. To share a memory of Russell visit, www.keithandkeith.com.

Anita, So sorry to hear about Russ's death. We have such great memories of baseball games, dinners together, just FUN times with you two. What a special couple.

I have known Russ for a large portion of my life and have always considered him the very best of the best. He was one who would always give me a good teasing but would always end with that wonderfully endearing smile. His presence will be missed very greatly by me, but I know in my heart that he is at peace now and will one day join all of us.

Russ was responceable for being promoted into RPT mangement my last 5 years at the P>F>P> plant..He told me that he would stand behind me on every decission i make,,Just be yourself and there would never be any problems for you..He was right,,,He was also a friend and im forever grateful to have known him...Rick Riccobuono

Grandpa Russ,
You were always ready with a quick wit and a caring heart. Thank you for the laughs and the love. You were always the first to do the right thing and imparted that wisdom upon everyone around you through your actions. You were the kind of man we all strive to be. Do what you say, say what you mean, and put the right thing before the easy thing. Hopefully we can live up to the standard you set. I love you and will miss you.

The Russ Knight family,
I worked with Russ for over 10 years in the 200 areas and always found him to be a joy to be around...always had a positive attitude and behavior. He also was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the plants and was a valuable resource when many of the "old timers" retired. I wish you much peace and comfort at this time and fond memories of him in the future.

Dad, some may say I was a bit old fashioned when I asked your permission and blessing to marry Kit. It wasn't old fashioned, it was because of the utmost respect I had for you, as a veteran, a father, and a man. Thank you for taking me into your extended family and allowing me to be a part of it. This is with deepest sympathy from the Knight family in Pittsburgh. Although we didn't get to see enough of Russell through the years we always enjoyed spending time with him. He was a joy to be around and one of the kindest men you would ever meet.

Anita & Family: Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Ralph was a great inspiration to me and you both were great friends. He was also a very important member in the Camerata Men's Chorus. We will miss his smiling face and upbeat personality. Looking forward to singing along with Camerata at his memorial.

Anita: Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family at this time. Russ was thought very highly of by all those who worked with him at Hanford.
It was great to have the wonderful times with you both before his death and good for Marland to visit him just prior to his passing.
