MAXINE R. CHAPMAN

Maxine R. Chapman passed away on March 12, 2011, at Kennewick, Washington.

She was born September 22, 1923, to Fletcher and Myrtle (Jackson) Robeson at St. John, Washington.

Maxine was raised in St. John and Chewelah, Washington, graduating from Jenkins High in Chewelah.

Maxine and Richard R. Chapman married on December 5, 1943, when Dick was active in the Coast Guard. They soon moved from Astoria, Oregon, to Turner, Oregon, then on to Spokane, Washington, in 1954, where they began a successful career in the independent grocery business. While in Spokane, they enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their cabin on the Spokane River in Post Falls, Idaho.

After retiring in 1969, they traveled widely and built a home at Klipsan Beach, Washington. Later they returned to Spokane and enjoyed a summer home at Priest Lake, Idaho.

Richard passed in 2000 and in 2002 Maxine moved to 'The Manor at Canyon Lakes' in Kennewick, Washington, where she found wonderful new friends and shared many great times.

She is survived by son, Richard (Judy) Chapman of Sherwood, Oregon; daughters, Patricia (Peter) Olmstead of Grandview, Washington; and Beverly (Steve) Ruark of Selah, Washington; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Maxine was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A memorial will be held later at Cloverdale Pioneer Cemetery in Turner, Oregon.
