Genoveva 'Geno' Tavares, 45, of Pasco, WA, was loved by many and will be missed by all. Passed away Monday, March 21, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. Born May 18, 1965, in Colima, Mexico. She is survived by her loving husband, Jose; five children, Liliana, Jessica, Luis, Beatriz and Oscar; and six grandchildren. She always put her family first. Instilling great morals and values to her children. She was a beautiful person both inside and out, very humble and respectful to all who crossed her path.
Geno was a very loving, devoted and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Those who knew her knew she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed working and helping others. She worked for the state as a WorkFirst Specialist at the Kennewick CSO. She took great pride in her job. She also dedicated her time to assist those with immigration needs. She gained great joy knowing that she made a difference in the lives of those who came to the United States for a better life. Although she was here for a short time, she accomplished what she set her mind to.
There will be a viewing at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco, on Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass services will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Parish on Friday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park near 10th and Union in Kennewick, following the Mass service.
