CLARICE FINCH Obituary


April 5, 1912 - March 17, 2011

Clarice was born and raised in Seattle and graduated in Fine Arts from Washington State College in 1935. She taught high school in Mead and married Louis Finch in 1938. After several years in Southern California, the family settled into a home on the Columbia River in Richland. Clarice was President of Richland's Allied Arts, a teacher at Chief Joseph Junior High School, and a member of Central United Protestant Church. After retirement, she and Louis moved to Whidbey Island, and after his death in 1987, Clarice moved to Bellevue.

She is survived by her two sons, John and Dan, grandchildren Jonathan and Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren, Mathilda, Oliver, and Thomas.

There will be no services.

To the family of Clarice. I was one of your mother's 8th grade Home Ec students at Chief Joseph in 1969. That was a long time ago, but she was a good teacher and took a special interest in me as a very shy student who loved homemaking. I didn't have much self-confidence, but she helped a lot. I will always be grateful to her and have sometimes wondered what she did after we moved out to Benton City. My own mother just passed away on Monday the 21st, so I am also having a deep loss. May you be comforted by our gracious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the days to come. Sincerely, Patty Hines Wells, Tangent, Oregon
