Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Dennis Alexander Simpson, 58, of Sunnyside, WA, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011. Dennis was born on September 4, 1952, in Sunnyside, WA, the son of Norman Robert and Joanne Kathleen (Tade) Simpson.
Dennis graduated from Sunnyside High School with the Class of 1971 and later attended Yakima Valley Community College for one year. On May 11, 1973, he married Suzanne Lones at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, WA. 
In 1977, Dennis started his long employment as a repairman and installer with the telephone company. He worked for Sprint, which later became known as Century Link. He served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976 at Croughton Air Force Base in Northamptonshire, England. He was a member of the Yakima Amateur Radio Club and AARL. 
Dennis and his daughter enjoyed spending time geocaching. He also cherished time spent with his family and beloved grandsons. Dennis was always an inspirational force in his son's life through art, music and animation. As a couple, Dennis and Suzanne participated in Renaissance Faires, Sci-Fi Conventions, Pirate Festivals and recently began digging for gemstones and planned to pan for gold this summer.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Suzanne Simpson of Sunnyside, WA; one daughter, Ruhama Lange and husband, Marc of Spokane, WA; one son, Andy Simpson and wife, Angela of Spokane, WA. He is also survived by two grandchildren; mother, Joanne Simpson of Corvallis, OR, former Sunnyside resident; one brother, Norm Simpson; and two sisters, Cathy Shreeve and Mary Jo Simpson.
He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Simpson Sr., and two brothers, Chuck Simpson and Mike Simpson.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, Washington.
