DOROTHY RUCK Obituary

Dorothy Mae Ruck, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2011. She was born on December 24, 1928, in Sigourney, Iowa.

After growing up on the family farm, she attended the University of Iowa where she met the love of her life, Fred. After getting married and graduating with a B.S. in Nursing, she went with Fred, who served as a lieutenant in the Air Force, to Fairbanks, Alaska, where Fred was stationed during the Korean War. After the war, they moved back to the Midwest and ended up in Iowa where they raised their three children.

They eventually retired to their home on Table Rock Lake near Branson, Missouri. They enjoyed their retirement of fishing, water sports and having family and friends come to visit and taking fun trips to Silver Dollar City.

To be closer to family, they moved to the Tri-Cities. Shortly thereafter, Fred passed away. For the next 10 years, she enjoyed her hobbies of playing bridge, reading, and attending her great-grandchildrens' events.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Kennewick. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved and blessed with many friends during her 10 years in the Tri-Cities. She will be truly missed by her family and by anyone who knew her.

She will be interned next to Fred in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Neva Schultz; her sister, Helen; and is survived by her two brothers, Larry and his wife Vickie,; and Richard and his wife Martha; her two sisters, Lois and her husband Wade; and Mary Ellen and her husband Frank; her three children, Fred and his wife Diana; Sue; and Doug and his wife Marquita; her nine grandchildren, Steffani, Amanda, Brandon, Laura, Bryce, John, Patrick, Robert, and Tony; and her seven great-grandchildren.
