ELIZABETH SHEARER Obituary

Einan's Funeral Home

On Memorial Day, Elizabeth passed peacefully, joining her husband, WWII veteran Gordon David Shearer. She was born Sept 9, 1915, in Devil's Lake, ND, when women and minorities could not vote, but she lived to see our first minority president. In 1928, she moved to Oregon with her parents, Aaron & Eda Keyes, and her Grandfather Ellerbusch. She married Gordon during WWII, and managed finances for their business interests.

Elizabeth's wit, joy, laughter, love, passion, independence, warmth and tenderness are greatly missed. She enjoyed life with her work, family, gardening, NW travel, and professional-quality creative sewing. In Oregon, she was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Altrusa, United Methodist Church, and a Camp Fire Girls' Leader; and in Richland of Central United Protestant Church.

Elizabeth was supported in her and Gordon's illnesses by the presence of her daughters. She is survived by daughters Lorraine Shearer, Karen and Richard Graney, Barbara and Les Braby; grandchildren Ryan & Nikki Braby, Joel Braby & Ylana Mazurkiewicz, Kevin & Kathy Braby; Lisa Graney, and Margaret Kaminsky.

The family is grateful to Rosetta, Hospice, and others in the community for her care, and for their kindnesses to daughters who left families to be in Richland. Elizabeth will rest with her husband at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Hospice, 2108 W Entiat, Kennewick, WA 99336.
