GEORGE TALBOT Obituary
Prosser Funeral Home
Prosser Farmer, Chuck Talbot, dies.
George Charles Talbot, 80, of Prosser, died Monday at Prosser Memorial hospital with his family at his side.
Chuck was born in 1930 in Sappho, Washington, to Alice (Bosse) Talbot and Aurelius Talbot. Most of his life was spent in the Prosser area, where he graduated from Prosser High School, married his high school sweetheart, Betty Lightle Talbot, and continued his farming career. Although farming was his life, he also was a Seattle firefighter, postal worker, carpenter, inventor, and always ready to give a helping hand.
His greatest love (and what he did best) was being the best husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to his adoring family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Talbot; son, Michael Talbot and wife Jan of Prosser; his daughter Shelley Overman, of Bellevue; grandchildren, Stacy Kann and husband Jason of Spokane, Brett Talbot, of Ellensburg, and Garth Overman and Karly Overman of Seattle; greatgrandchildren, Zoe and Noah Kann of Spokane; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice (Bosse) Talbot; father, Aurelius Talbot; his sister and brother-in-law, Dwight and Robin Halstead; and father and mother-inlaw, John (Happy) and Estelle Lightle.
Chuck loved to fish, hunt pheasants with his birddogs, was an accomplished craftsman, and was patient in sharing these loves with his children and grandchildren. He had a renowned sense of humor and was always one to surprise with a practical joke.
Funeral services with be held at the Prosser First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Prosser Cemetery. In memory of Chuck, memorials may be given to the Prosser First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, or charity of your choice. Prosser Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
