Hulen C. 'Mac' McCary, 87, joined family members around the throne of Jesus on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick, Washington. He was surrounded by his loving family.

A 'Celebration of Life' service will be held at Pasco First Christian Church on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.

Mac served as a machinist's mate in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. After the war, he married his sweetheart, Rose Coyle in Yuma, Arizona, and made their home in San Diego, California. In 1959, the family moved to Albany, Oregon; then in 1970, to the Mesa, Washington area; in 1980, to Redmond, Oregon; and then back to the Columbia Basin in 1991. Mac, a retired farmer, has lived with his wife, Rose, in the Mesa/Tri-Cities area for a total of 31 years. They have been happily married for 65 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and camping with his family.

Mac was born in Antlers, Oklahoma, on January 9, 1924. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose; three children and spouses, Carole Ann and Sam Schuh, Miles and Mariann McCary, Roger and Dori McCary; eight grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Kelly Schuh, Travis and Sarah Schuh, Amanda and Vic Carleton, Jesse and Jessie Schuh, Melissa and Mike Sommer, Matthew McCary, Erin and Sam Kniveton, Megan McCary; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob Schuh, Esther Schuh, Rebekah Schuh, Naomi Schuh, Thomas Huntzinger, Samuel Huntzinger, Mark Huntzinger, Tyler Sommer, Zachary Sommer, and Kylie Sommer; sisters, Clara Jean Harnisch and Roberta Chambers; and brother, Wilburn McCary of the Albany, Oregon area; as well as brother, Milburn McCary, in Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jeannie and Clara; two brothers, James and Albert; and one sister, Laverne Chambers.
