MELVIN MARLER Obituary

Melvin Boyd Marler passed away January 21, 2011, at home in Pasco, Washington, after a long illness. Melvin was born to Charley and Lillian (Walker) Marler on December 8, 1929 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

He is survived by Mamie (Jacobs) Marler, his wife of 62 years; daughter Kathy (Richard) Bates of Kennewick; son Charlie of Pasco; 3 grandchildren, Delena Thomasson, Travis and Cody Marler; 4 great-grandchildren, Gave, Conner and Jacob Thomasson and Madison Marler; and sister Shirley Dickson of Kennewick.

Dad's education was cut short but his experience and talents were tremendous. He could repair anything. He was proud of his career in construction on many roads, bridges, dams and pipeline project in the Pacific NW and Alaska.

He was preceded in death by twin sister, Marie Sickels, Ruby Lynn McDowell, Marvin Marler and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice House who gave dad and the family wonderful care and comfort or to the Humane Society. A family gathering will be held January 29, 1:00 p.m. at the Pasco home to give tribute to Dad. May he rest in peace and breathe freely.
