RYBECA CONNER Obituary

Rybeca Annmichelle Conner, age 16, died tragically in a house fire on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in Benton City. She was born on November 6, 1994, in Richland, Washington, to James Conner and Michelle Ann Baumgartner. She was raised in Benton City by her mother and stepfather, Korry Petersen.
Rybeca was a sophomore at Richland High School. She was a 4.0 student, a member of The Honor Society and was accepted to Tri-Tech for next year. She was also a member of the Color Guard and played basketball and softball. Rybeca loved the color purple, arts and crafts, listening to music, watching horror movies, spending time with her family, being electronically attached to her many friends and kept busy with volunteer work and babysitting. She liked camping ... hated fishing and was outspoken and fearless. She will be deeply missed.
Rybeca is survived by her mother and stepfather, Korry and Michelle Petersen; her father, James Conner; her brothers, Daniel Petersen, Dakota Conner and Mikey Conner; her sisters, Kasandra Petersen and Tasha Petersen; her grandparents, Kris and Butch Baumgartner and Diana Conner all of Benton City and Carmen Miller of Pasco; great-grandparents, Beatrice & Elmer Lickey of Benton City; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:15 on Monday, May 23, 2011, at the Richland High School small gymnasium. Family and friends are invited to a potluck at the Benton City Park following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland High School Athletic Department. Prosser Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.

Beca was one of my good friends. We were in color guard together and shared many laughs and inside jokes. Our whole family (guard family) was devastated when we heard. But we've been there for each other and i think this unfortunate event has made us even stronger and closer than ever before. I can't believe she's gone. it seems so surreal. She was always smiling and when you took her picture, she stuck her tongue out. :p We will all miss her greatly. We love you Beca. Keep Twirling.

While I did not know Rybeca or her family, it moves my heart that such a young and bright beauty has been lost from this world. I pray God's peace is with this family during this most difficult time.

My hearts breaks for her family. I did not know Rybeca but used to be good friends with her father and some of her mother's family. I am sure she was a treasure and will be missed by all.
