DANIEL MCCORMICK Obituary

Daniel Lyle McCormick, 49, was born Nov. 11, 1965 in Portland, Oregon to Gerald and Patricia McCormick. After a brief battle with cancer he died on January 13th, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends.

Dan was raised in Portland, Oregon and attended the University of Portland where he met his wife Mary and earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Later he received his Mechanical Engineering degree and pursued a career in that field working for various corporations in the Portland area. Seven years ago he moved to Richland Washington to advance his career at Apollo Mechanical as their Director of Business Development. Dan's true love was his family devoting the majority of his time to them through coaching soccer and other sports, supporting their school interests, athletics and hobbies. Another true passion was road cycling. He loved to share this interest by riding with family, friends and sharing his knowledge of the sport.

Dan is survived by his wife Mary of 25 years and 4 children, Kayla, Keegan, Kira and Keely. He is also survived by his mother Pat McCormick of Portland, sisters Cyndie Sutherland of Beaverton, Mary Beth McCormick of Portland and brother Paul of Portland. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry McCormick.

The funeral Mass will be Friday, January 16th at 2:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 111 Stevens Drive, Richland, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Northwest Cancer Clinic in Kennewick or the Cancer Society.
