We love and miss you Grandma!

March 24, 2012

I can't believe it has been a little over a year that you have been gone. There are so many things that I wish I could share with you, I have picked up the phone a few times to tell you, just to hear you laugh. I love you Grandma and I know you are with us all, always.. But I selfishly wish I Could hear your voice once more. I miss you!

Earlier this year in mid February, Me and Mom ventured out to try our luck at one of the local Indian Casinos. It's about twenty-five miles from the house and we did the drive-thru at Taco Bell for lunch. Usually all the handicap parking spaces are full so I park in an area where there are no cars next to us, and this time it was in an area where there were small trees planted nearby. I get the car stopped and a small brown squirrel runs down the tree and stops on the curb right next to the car on the passenger side and was chattering at us for disturbing him. I said " Mom did you see that baby beaver run down the tree? and look it's right over there!" Mom says " Oh look at that cute little Beaver" She paused for a moment and says "beaver?" Mom started laughing, I started laughing, she's trying to tell me it's not a beaver but she's laughing so hard she can't stop laughing! Me and Mom sat in the car for a while laughing, tears running down our faces over that "beaver" Like a couple of goofy kids. I don't remember ever laughing so hard or ever seeing Mom laugh that hard. For days afterward Mom would start chuckling and she'd say beaver... That was a special day for us, and now when I start feeling sad, I think about two silly goofs sitting in that car and it helps......

"Theopa Wright" Lol That is an awesome story Daddy! hehehe I can completely picture the two of you sitting in the car cracking up like that! :) Thank you for telling us about it, it certainly brightened my day, will give me something to giggle about throughout the day! :)
"Bob Wendling" That was a great day and a memory that I will cherish.

Thank you all for the lovely messages. I know my mom and dad are now together again-- Mom was an avid gardener and that also shows up in her family. She had the four of us: Bob, Steve, Kathy and myself....we had 13 kids (Bob: 3-Jennifer, Theopa, Rebecca; Steve: 3-Cindy, James, Shanna; Kathy: 4-Janet, Darryl, Vicki, Elizabeth; and Sandy: 3-Chris, Nick, and Lauren.) Those 13 kids have had 31 children...and the list is still growing. What a garden my mom has grown. I love you and will miss you dearly.
