Joaquin CALDERON Obituary

CALDERON, Joaquin R. "Jake" 82, born on June 28 1935, sadly passed away July 4, 2017. Preceded in death by his parents, Joaquin and Fidelia; brother, Juan, and sister, Teresa. His is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; his four children, Arlene (Dan), Susan (Pete), Carol (Alex), and Jake (Maria); his six grandchildren, Adrienne (Solvaik), Alexander (Adriana), Christina (Anthony), Daniel (Larissa), Michael (Anissa), and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Vivienne, Isabella, and Alexander; and his loyal friend, Buster. Born and raised in Tucson, Jake was an altar server for Santa Cruz Church, a graduate of Tucson High School, and a proud US Marine. A retired pipe fitter in '92, Jake was also a member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local 741 for over 50 years. As a devoted Catholic, he was a 3rd degree knight for the Knights of Columbus and usher for St. Johns Church for many years. Most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving husband, who worked tirelessly to provide for his children. He was a man who taught his children the value of hard work and the importance of family. He excelled as a father with his calm demeanor and overwhelming love for his children. In 1985, he took on a new role as an adoring grandfather. A role, he flourished in throughout the lives of his six grandchildren. The last years of his life were further enriched with the births of his great-grandchildren. He constantly watched the news and his beloved Washington Redskins. Jake was a humble man, a true observer of life. He was a proud man, and it was most noticeable when it came to his family. The sound of his husky voice saying, "whats going on" will forever reside in our hearts. His celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (Center Chapel) from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited, 10:30 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.
