Ervin HOCHHALTER Obituary

HOCHHALTER, Ervin 97, was born April 12, 1920 in Cologne, SD. Ervin passed away July 3, 2017. He served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Upon retirement, Ervin and his wife, Anna Mae made the move from the Midwest to Mesa, AZ. There he enjoyed his leisure time swimming daily and riding his bike into his mid 90's! In his final years, he still enjoyed trips to the casino and playing Pinochle with his friends at his independent living facility in Tucson. He was loved by many, and he will be missed. Ervin is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae; son-in-law, James Marotta; and 10 siblings. Ervin is survived by his daughters, Judy Cizanskas, Diane Marotta and Bette (Jeff) Fredericks; grandchildren, Amy and Tim Cizanskas, Michael (Colleen) and Kristi Marotta, and Kyle (Lori) and Megan Fredericks; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Dippon; dear friend and former companion, Maralee Spencer plus many nieces and nephews. A graveside service in Mesa will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to DAV (Disable American Veterans), 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
