Tracy FLOYD Obituary

FLOYD, Tracy Dewitt, Jr. beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Parkinson's won the earthly battle and Tracy won the trip to Glory. He was born on October 2, 1941, in Birmingham, AL. His life was giving to his family, God and the U.S. Military. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cross Floyd (née Brittle). On March 5, 1988, Tracy married Linda Dixon. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Corneilia) Dixon, Kimberly (Gabriel) Sylvia, David (Melissa) Dixon and Richie (Renée) Floyd; 15 grandchildren and other loved ones. In 1966, Tracy was ordained in Portsmouth, VA served for over 40 years in churches in VA, NC, MO, HI, and AZ. Tracy served in the Army Reserves as a Chaplain for 21 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. The Celebration of his life will be held at the VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME (520-544-2285) on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Tracy loved his hats so please wear one to the celebration. A Military Interment will be held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis, MO, later this year. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Parkinson's Association, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, or the Kahului Union Church, Kahului, Hawaii. "Those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles."
