I knew Phil and Lorraine years ago when Phil, Carlos, Larry and others all were great pals. Phils uncle had the place in Red Rock and Phil had to stay and run it while his pals went off to serve during Korea. His Uncle and Aunt were friends of my parents and his uncle loved horse races. When we moved from Arizona, I lost track of Phil and Lorraine in person, but not in thoughts. Lots of great memories.Mary Frances Doty

"Mr. Hogue, How are you doing today?"; as I always greeted him would prompt the response "Thanks for the mister". I became under his employ back in January 1995 as a Drafter II in the Planning and Zoning Drafting Dept. Myself, Jaunita (spelled correctly); rest her soul, as drafters and Lewis our supervisor made up the P&Z Drafting Dept . I had business interactions with Mr. Hogue each and every week until I left P&Z for my new job in IT, December 1999. Mr Hogue retired years later as the Director of Planning and Development. He could not stay away from the love he had working within County Government and returned, as I recall, as a Flood Plain Administrator. In passing his new office, I would get the "Thanks for the mister" response each and every time.
Mr Hogue was a pleasure to work for, be around and "work with" on the few projects I had the pleasure to be involved (AZ Land Department illegal land splits, Right-of-Way Review for un-subdivided lots, Minor Land Division process and Letter of Map Revisions on FEMA flood maps). A year and a half being in the department, I applied and was chosen as the new drafting supervisor. In this capacity, I would be called to the counter for P&Z map issues the public was having. If I could not come to a conclusion, I would think What would Mr Hogue do?" and in many cases came to a decision that would be a win-win, else, Mr Hogue would have to be called.
I will miss Mr Hogue but will always try to imitate his qualities, respect and customer service I learned under his stead.
So long Mr Hogue and thank-you for being my director.... I know you would reply "Thanks for the mister"

Phillip and Linda, it's been so long since our paths have crossed. I'm so sorry to know your dad has passed. I certainly do have many, may cherished childhood memories of our families, with your dad at the helm of all things fun and exciting. Prayers and love to all of you.
