Thomas Michael TUCKER

1948 - 2017

TUCKER, Thomas Michael 69, passed away June 8, 2017 with family by his side. He was born May 28, 1948 in Janesville, Wisconsin. He grew up in Janesville, lived most his adult life in the Chicago area, and moved to the Tucson area in 2004. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree from Northwestern University. Tom had two careers during his working life: teacher and lumber trader. He loved teaching because he could make such a positive impact on young people's lives through building their self-confidence. He enjoyed the lumber industry because of his interest in the construction business. One of his favorite hobbies was working on house projects. His other favorite pastimes included tennis, card games, especially bridge, movies, the outdoors and vacation visits to many of our National Parks. He passionately supported his favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be very much missed. He is survived by his wife, Anne Sunderland; son, Brandon Tucker (Nadia); two grandchildren, Luca and Clara; five siblings, Kate Tucker, Tim Tucker, Bridget (Mike) Carper, Janet (Cliff) Kuti, Tony Tucker, former spouse Rose Dobski and many nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and June Tucker; siblings, Brian Tucker and Donald Tucker II and nephews, Ryan Carper and Cliff Kuti Jr. Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Grace Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 East Adams at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Youth On Their Own (yoto.org) or SupportTheBadgers.org.
