John Allen MAIER

MAIER, John Allen 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Kristen White (Chris); grandsons, Elijah and Everett White; his sister, Virginia "Ginny" Garner and nephews, Curt Garner (Chelsea) and Travis Garner. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John Maier and his son, Christopher Maier. A native Tucsonan, John graduated from Tucson High in 1964 and earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 1969. From 1968-1974 he served in the Army Air National Guard of Arizona. John worked at Arizona Trust Company as a Mortgage Loan Officer and later became Vice President of the Insurance Division. From there, he ventured into commercial real estate, which he continued to pursue until his untimely death. John will be remembered by his friends and family for his kindness and gentle spirit; his thoughtful and engaging discussions on politics; his profound intellect; and his undying compassion for both humans and animals alike. As a beloved father, brother, and friend, we mourn his loss but we also celebrate his life. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Catalina United Methodist, 2700 E. Speedway, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern Arizona Humane Society in honor of "Bella", John's loyal companion over the past 15 years.
