Vi, it has been a long time. We lost contact with each other and I didn't know how to find you. Today, I was looking for old friends through Google. I found Tom's name and congratulations on having your law practice. He will only remember me from when we were getting ready to go dancing and we were trying a new dance move but you ended up taking a nose dive into the carpet. I'm just sorry that I couldn't get a hold of you sooner. Instead of speaking with you, I'm sending my condolences to Tom, Tweety and your brother Ed and the rest of your family. I miss dancing with you my adopted cousin and the fun we had. Rest In Peace Vi. I will look for you in the next life and maybe we can share a dance again.

Grandma, I miss you a lot. I've gone through middle school, high-school and am in college now and the whole way I've been thinking of you. I miss all the food you used to make me and the time we spent together. Alyssa says she doesn't remember you much, but I do. I remember all of our special moments, and even the days where we just spent time at your house. I miss and love you very much. The 10th anniversary is coming up, and you've been in my head for the past few weeks. I love and miss you.

Dear Vi,
On this, the first anniversary of your departure, we remember you and honor the life you shared with us.
You have been a wonderful sister, mother, wife, friend, counselor, and teacher. The world was far richer because you were there.
You have gone to a brighter and cheerier place where the heart's vision is unobscured by fear and doubt. You are free of blame, anger, regret, judgment and all the sundry heartaches that plague us who are still desperately trying to manage and learn about ourselves.
I know you are with us, doing your best to guide us in whatever way you can just the way Mom and Dad extended themselves to help us through our difficulties and challenges.

Our prayers go with you. May your heart be our bright candle even in those dreadful nights of desperation.

Mom-
I miss you. My heart needed you still. There's not a day that the grand kids talk about you. It's been especially hard on Austin. We miss you hugs and laughter.

Can you believe Brittany is going to get married? She needed you to help make a these glorious decisions. It is so hard and not fair that you had to leave us.

Viola

At a table overlooking the garden of memories,
Pen in hand, inside eternity's house of light,
She writes of the earth--its terrible, resilient majesty.

Oh how she misses this desert--the spiny ocotillo's
Tiny, red trumpets, the palo verde's blue-green shade,
The lightning and thunder of the summer monsoon.

How she misses the ocean, its endless sky over green
Islands of palm and bamboo, the sun descending,
Slices of mango shining on a white plate.

Most of all, she misses--family, students, friends--
Those who cannot yet fathom her subtle foot work
Across the evanescent, checkered dance floor.

To us, she sends the leaf in the stream, the wind's
Indelible whisper, the sky's open smile. To us
She offers orange blossoms, the maid of Orleans.

In the shadow of her absence, among the echoes
That rise on green stalks beside the stream,
I think of her, my dear ever-present sister.

Vi Pace was one of the classiest ladies I have had the pleasure of calling both my friend and co-worker. She always had a smile on her face and took the time both to listen and offer advice when asked to do so. She and Tom did a super job in raising Melanie and Brittany. Job well done Vi!

It has taken me more than a few days to wrap my arms around a loss of this magnitude. As I said to my husband as we left the funeral....our family dynamics just changed drastically. Vi was our spark plug, our bright light and a strong presence. The world lost one of the most amazing women and heaven gained an angel. Say hi to my dad and keep him in line!! You will forever be missed and forever in our hearts...

Grade school, St. Scholastica's College - Viola was my dearest friend, along with Irene Noble. She was practically a member of our family. I will remember Viola always - especially her kindness, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor. Condolences to Tom, Melanie, Brittany, Ed, and other family and friends of Vi from the Morales and Guerrero families.

Vi was one of the first teachers I met when I started working at St. Joseph's School. She was a tremendously welcoming and helpful colleague and quickly became a friend. Vi's heart was always with her children...both school children and family. She was first and foremost a loving person looking to help everyone she knew. My heart goes out to her family in this difficult time. Tom, Brittney, Melanie, Don, Father Miguel, and all of her family, you were all truly blessed to share her life. My prayers are with you.

Vi was a beautiful person inside and out. She was friendly, outgoing and had an open-heart. I will never forget the time at Blenman. Thank you for helping me grow into a better teacher and being a friend. She can always make me laugh and always had a listening ear when needed. You will be missed dearly,Vi.

Aunt Vi was one of the most friendly, outgoing people I ever met. On the occasions when we were together, she would always talk to me, give me attention, and make me feel like we were great friends. This shower of attention was embarrassing and somewhat mortifying to an extremely shy young man such as myself, but it did not fail to show the love she had for me and for everyone around her. She will be missed greatly by all whose lives she touched, and the world has lost, and heaven gained, a light with her passing.

It was a joy to work with Vi. She was so welcoming to the whole Blenman community and beyond. She cared so much for the students, as well as the staff. Her kindness will be a heartfelt memory for so many people. She is deeply missed.

More than my children's teacher at St. Joseph's, you were a friend....always seeing the positive and goodness in all of your students and extended family. Vi, you touched the lives of many through your kindness and gentle guiding, and we won't ever forget that sense of humor. Tom, Melanie, and Brittany, thank you for sharing such a beautiful spirit with the rest of us. We are all better for having her in our lives. May God bless all of you and grant you peace.

Vi was a friend from before high school. She was my sister's classmate. Before long, she was part of our family. We didn't see or hear from each other much when she moved to the US. But the bond, the friendship, the love, was always there, as strong and fresh as ever. I'll always remember the time I visited with her and her wonderful family at their home in Tucson. I will miss you, Vi. And I'll never forget you.

Mrs. Pace was my school councellor from 3rd grade until 5th grade. I am a sophomore in high school, and I heard a day after she died the news of her death. She was the one person that got me through a very hard time in my life. I was comfortable with her, I could tell her anything. If it weren't for her, I would not be who I am today. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have gotten over that slump in my life.
Mrs. Pace, I thank you, for absolutely everything. You are a saint, you are someone who has touched my life in the best way possible. Rest in paradise, I will never forget you. <3

May you rest in peace. I am the mother of a student that Mrs. Pace helped many years ago. My daughter was at Blenman from 3rd-5th grade. She is now a sophmore in high school. You can see it has been awhile since she was in our lives....but had a huge impact on us. She helped my daughter(&family) get threw something I did not know how to handle. As a mother, she helped me so much. Sometimes over the years I would run into her& she always asked about my daughter. To all of her family & friends... I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing her with the world. She will always be in my families heart. Yeah...I alway knew she was an angel.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. I am sorry that I did not have the pleasure of knowing Viola except while she was in the hospital. It was an honor to have been involved in caring for her and in meeting some of her family. She must have been an incredible person because she raised two incredible daughters with unbelievable strength and commitment to their mother. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that while you want her here with you, I believe that she is in a wonderful place and that you now have one of the best guardian angels ever!

I will never forget the first time I met Brittany and Mrs. Pace in Tina's market in Dominica over 2 years ago. I was so scared and didn't have any friends yet, and Mrs. Pace was so kind. In fact, had it not been for her, Brittany and I joke that we would never have been friends. I will always be eternally grateful for Mrs. Pace and her influence that day; Brittany is one of the most special people in my life today, and I am so blessed to have met them both. Mrs. Pace will definitely be missed, but all the great and wonderful things about her live on in her two beautiful daughters!

I met Mrs. Pace when I was in the same grade with Brittany at St. Joseph's School. She was such a kind-hearted person, always willing to help my mom when I needed rides. And when those zippy binders were so "in", she bought me one when my mom couldn't afford it! She was always thinking of others and how she could help with anything. I will never forget her, she will be greatly missed. Jennifer (Fenton) Spivey

God Bless the Pace family. I had "Mommy P" as a third grade teacher her first year at St. Joes and she remained an intrical mentor in my life.
