LUDE, Rena Pifer It is with great sadness that the family of Rena, of Tucson, AZ announces that she joined our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:10 a.m. Rena was born on August 21, 1923 in Alvordton, OH daughter of William Earl and Mabel Caulkins Pifer. She spent her formative years in Hillsdale, MI where she graduated from high school. Rena attended Hillsdale College where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and majored in Early-Childhood Education. While at Hillsdale she met, and fell in love with Milo "Mike" Lude. Rena and Mike joined the war effort, Rena making uniforms and Mike in the United States Marine Corps. They returned to Hillsdale College where they graduated June 2, 1947 and then were married on June 5th. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. Rena loved nature, her friends, her family, the sun and all things yellow. Rena is survived by her devoted husband, Mike; daughters, Cynthia (Gary Crose), Janann (Mark Nelson), Jill (Jim Thompson) and her grandson, Michael Nelson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Casa De Luz Hospice or St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tucson, AZ. Memorial Service to be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Church, 7650 N. Paseo Del Norte, Tucson, AZ 85704. Reception immediately following the service.

Mike, I am so sorry to hear of Rena's passing. I was so hoping to be able to come to the service, but I was out of town. Have been looking for your address every since I got back. I know that Rena and you had a wonderful relationship and you will miss her deeply. I will always remember the day when Rena and I connected at that PEO meeting and I saw her Auburn purse. She was such a lovely person and I know the past couple of years have been tough on you and your family. I still remember you guys coming to Daniel's wedding. We have cherish your friendship over the years and hope the Rena's loving memory will always give you comfort.

Rena and I never met but I knew that Mike loved her beyond measure. It was obvious to me from knowing Mike for only 15 years or so than Rena and Mike were a great team supporting one another. I grieve the Lude family loss and pray for peace.
