Bert Andrew FERGANCHICK

FERGANCHICK, Bert Andrew a long-time member of the Tucson community, passed away peacefully November 2, 2017. Bert, born in Austin, Colorado in 1930, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Ann Ferganchick; his daughter, Mona and her children, Dallas, Nicholas, and Jon; his son, Mark and his wife Sonya, and their children: Caleb, Chanel, and Faith; his daughter Stacy and her children, David, Jason, and Eric; and his daughter, Julia. Bert was drafted (1953) by and served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He returned home to build a family with his wife, Ann, and later a thriving business with his son, Mark. Bert served as a community leader in 4-H for many years. His kindness and compassion are known by all who met him. Bert and Ann raised their children on the farm they built, which began as an isolated property far east of Tucson. Bert was a successful family man, business man, and friend. Having grown up during the depression working on his family farms and in Colorado mines, he had a kind word for every person he met. Bert was devoted to serving the Lord, Jesus Christ. Even as his illness spread, Bert dedicated himself to Bible Study and to sharing the gospel. He often quoted the Sermon on the Mount, and was fond of King Solomon's wisdom. Bert was also a passionate American citizen, honored by his support of local, state, and national civic organizations including a personal letter of appreciation from President Ronald Regan. Together, Bert and Ann have and continue to sponsor the education of youths in third world countries. Services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., Real Life Christian Fellowship, 3353 N. Houghton Road. Pastor John Luttman officiating.
